Two giants of British jazz take centre stage in this vibrant celebration of the music of Ronnie Scott and Tubby Hayes — pioneers whose partnership and friendship helped define the sound of British jazz in the 1950s and 60s. This special concert sees acclaimed saxophonist Simon Spillett join forces with The Purcell School Jazz Ensembles and Big Band, alongside guest trombonist Mark Nightingale, for an exhilarating programme drawn from the Tubby Hayes Big Band library and the iconic Jazz Couriers repertoire.

Big Iftar Evening – Communities Together
Ramadan is a time of reflection, compassion, and generosity. It is a season that reminds us that hunger creates empathy, prayer builds humility, and community creates strength.
At our Big Iftar Evening, we are not just breaking fast — we are breaking barriers.
This is more than a meal. It is a moment where neighbours sit side by side. Where people of different faiths and none come together in respect. Where conversations replace assumptions. Where understanding replaces division.
Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh, and friends from every background
this evening is a celebration of our shared humanity. In a world that often highlights differences, we choose unity. In times that can feel divided, we choose dialogue. In moments of uncertainty, we choose hope.
When we gather at one table, we send a powerful message:
Communities are stronger together.
Faith is a bridge, not a barrier.
Love is louder than fear.
Let this Iftar be a symbol of peace across our neighbourhoods.
Let it inspire partnership across our services.
Let it remind us that when we eat together, we walk together.
Everyone is welcome. Everyone belongs.
